Meet the Farmers, Growers & Producers of the finest award winning artisan Welsh Food and Drink at Cardiff’s Real Food Farmers Markets. Reared, grown, harvested, caught, cooked, baked, bottled, processed or preserved by local small scale businesses and individuals. Add in some ‘street food’ and barista coffee and know you are ‘supporting local’ with your spend going back to farms and kitchens, their families and staff. Look out for our Welsh Speakers and Learners wearing their ‘Cymraeg’ badges.

A guided walk around Llandaff accompanied by Jon Gower, who will look at architectural, cultural and literary aspects of the city within a city. We’ll hear about saints and certainly a few writers like R.S.Thomas & Roald Dahl.

Announcing The 2018 National Eisteddfod
Historically, it is traditional to announce the intention to visit the Eisteddfod area at least a year and a day before the start of the festival. The ceremony will be held at the beginning of Tafwyl Fringe Festival in order to announce the future Eisteddfod in Cardiff to everyone, locally and nationally. The 2018 National Eisteddfod will be held in Cardiff Bay from 3 – 11 August.

A Welsh folk dancing festival where teams from all over Wales will march through the centre of Cardiff from 11am (the route will pass the Old Library and continue down Queen Street), before raising the summer pole in front of City Hall at midday. The dancers will then join with the Eisteddfod’s Gorsedd procession through the centre of town from 2pm until 3pm. Following this, the dancing will continue around St Mary’s Street until 5pm.
